God is our refuge and strength, our source of hope in these unsettling times.

Romans 15.13

Such a wonderful verse, yet so often I go my own way and then wonder why I feel depressed!

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 15.4

Endurance is a good word for a lockdown. We wait to get encouragement from the government but perhaps we should also look to the bible for some signs of guidance and hope.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you, and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

1 Peter 5.10

Following on from yesterday’s blog, I think this verse from Peter helps to build resilience and reminds us of the hope we have in Christ.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3.17

An exhortation that He loves us!

The Lord is my refuge and strength

Whenever I feel life is getting on top of me, this verse, and infact the whole psalm, offers sustenance,

I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness. I will build you up again. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful.

This just spoke to me as an encouragement that life constantly moves forward and there will be better times ahead
